Anti-Bullying

We stand up to bullying! We have been doing many activities and lessons on how to help someone if they are being bullied, what to do if you are being bullied, and why people may bully. Last week, Constable Alanna came to our class to present about bullying. She will be coming to talk to the class in June about Cyber Bullying. I was amazed to hear how many students have phones/iPads and how much they interact via social media. The last session should be very informative!

Plants

How nice of a student to bring in a plant for every student in our class?! Here he is beside our pumpkins! Have you planted yours at home?

The grade 3 choir

Here are our grade 3 choir students presenting in front of the rest of our students.

Aboriginal Awareness and Talking Circles

We have had a special visitor in our class this week. She will also be spending the next 2 weeks with us, leading us in a 'Talking Circle'. So far, Pam has shared how nature plays an important part in her culture. Each day, Pam passes around a 'grandfather' (rock). We then share things that are important to each of us. Pam explains how certain objects have significance to her. Ask your child to tell you about smudging or how Pam came to acquire a turtle shell?!

Literacy Day and Fuzzy Buddy Day

The kids are always excited to wear their pyjamas to school and bring a stuffy. TWO times this school year was an added bonus! Here are some photos with their Reading Buddies.
